Pochulgo defeats Convention Go 11-10 in a close game

Both teams totaled 25 sasagus.

Pochulgo reaches the quarterfinals of the Bonghwangdae in dramatic fashion.

In the quarterfinals of the 51st Bonghwang-daegi National High School Baseball Tournament (co-hosted by The Korea Times and the Korea Baseball Softball Association) at Mokdong Stadium in Seoul, South Korea, Pochulgo defeated Seoul Convention High School 11-10 after a three-hour, 16-minute battle.

However, the game itself was far from satisfying, as both teams combined for 25 wild pitches.

Convocation took the lead in the second inning with a two-run single by Park Je-hyun and a two-run double by Lee Jung-jin. In response, Pochuldo sent nine batters to the plate in the bottom of the inning and scored four runs. This pattern was repeated throughout the game. In the top of the third inning, Konkukgo answered back with a two-run home run over the right field fence by No. 6 Yang Seung-hyuk. In response, Pochulgo scored two runs on four walks and two hits. Score 5-4

After Convocation scored one more run in the fourth and fifth innings, Pochulgo scored three runs in the fifth inning to take the lead again. In the process, they drew two walks and one hit by pitch, and the only hit they needed was a single to right field by Lee Jun-hyung in the fourth.

Pocheolgo drew two walks in the seventh and then drove in a run with a double to left-center field by No. 4 Lee Jun-hyung to bring home two runners. Convento drew a whopping five walks in the eighth inning to push across three runs, but fell just one step short.

In a game that featured 25 walks, all 21 runs were earned.
