“Recovery period uncertain” 145 kilometers after headshot → diagnosed with nose bone fracture, avoided surgery… Lee Ho-yeon’s case is the best

NC Dinos outfielder Seo Ho-cheol (27) was diagnosed with a fractured nose following a headshot during a game.

“Seo Ho-cheol was diagnosed with a fractured nose as a result of a specialist’s examination today in relation to the dune at the end of the eighth inning of the game on the 24th,” the NC announced on the 25th. “It was diagnosed as a situation where surgery is not necessary,” the NC said, adding, “After checking the player’s physical condition tomorrow (26th), we will hold an internal meeting to decide whether to register the player and travel.”

Luckily, surgery was avoided, but the exact timeline for his return is still difficult to predict.

The club said, “The recovery time for a fractured nose depends on the individual,” adding, “The nose is not swollen much. We will have to wait and see how he recovers.”

KT’s Lee Ho-yeon broke his nose on June 21 when he was hit in the face by a foul ball. He returned to play on July 9, 18 days after the fracture. With a different fracture process but a similar recovery time, Seo could be ready for fall baseball.

Seo was hit in the face by a 145-kilometer fastball from Doosan’s Kim Kang-ryul in the bottom of the eighth inning of a 2-3 loss to the Doosan Bears at Changwon NC Park on July 24. He collapsed in a pool of blood and was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

A checkup a day later confirmed the fracture, and while Seo avoided surgery, he will be closely monitoring his recovery to determine a timetable for his return.

Seo, the 2021 Futures League batting champion during his time with the Commerce, fell short of expectations last year in his first season out of the military, batting just 2-for-5 in 89 games. The following season, however, he broke out, batting .299 with three home runs, 38 RBIs, 43 runs scored, and a 7.2 OPS in 101 games as the starting third baseman.토토사이트

It’s a big loss for NC, which is battling for second and third place. Seo’s absence is especially painful because shortstop Kim Joo-won was called up to the Asian Games team. Do Tae-hoon is expected to play third base to minimize the gap.
