Chungnam Asan pulls off a dramatic come-from-behind victory.
Chungnam Asan defeated Chungbuk Cheongju 3-2 on Thursday at 4 p.m. in the 26th round of the Hana OneQ K League 2 2023 at the Yi Sunshin Sports Complex in Asan.
Chungnam Asan is currently in 10th place with 10 wins, 6 draws, 16 losses and 36 points. Chungbuk Cheongju has 12 wins, 11 draws, 8 losses and 47 points, two points behind fifth-place Gyeongnam FC. The team is still in contention for a playoff spot in the remaining games.
Chungnam Asan used a 4-3-3 formation with the trio of Kang Min-kyu, Park Dae-hoon, and Song Seung-min. Park Se-jik, Kim Kang-guk, and Kim Hye-sung were in the midfield, while Kim Joo-sung, Jang Jun-young, Lee Ho-in, and Lee Hak-min were in the back. Park Han-geun was in goal.
Cheongju started with Park Jin-sung, Peter, Hong Won-jin, and Kim Myung-soon in the back three of Cho Ji-ri, Jung Min-woo, and Yang Ji-hoon. In the back, Lee Im-joon, Lee Min-hyung, and Lee Jung-taek were the three backs, with Park Dae-hwan in goal.
Cheongju opened the scoring in the 10th minute. Peter tried to open the scoring with a powerful right-footed mid-range shot from outside the penalty box, but Park made a good save.
However, it was Chungnam Asan who scored the first goal. In the 17th minute, Park Dae-hoon caught a loose ball inside the penalty box and cut back past one defender. Kang Min-kyu slid the ball into the back of the net for the first goal.
After that, both teams went on the offensive. They fought fiercely in the center of the field but were unable to get into the penalty box. In the 31st minute, Kang Min-gyu hit a right-footed shot near the penalty box, but it was not powerful.

However, it was Cheongju who scored the second goal, as Lee Seung-jae made a slight change of direction with a header in front of the goal.
Chungnam Asan fought back. In the 37th minute, Kim Kang-guk beat a defender on the left side of the penalty box and fired a right-footed shot that was saved by the goalkeeper.
In the 43rd minute, Chungnam Asan found the equalizer. Duarte’s pass to Park Dae-hoon found Hapael, who tried to shoot with his right foot in a crowded area. The ball hit a Cheongju defender and deflected into the goal.
