Women’s Baseball World Cup Group A qualifiers end with back-to-back defeats for South Korea
South Korea’s women’s national baseball team suffered back-to-back losses in qualifying for the Women’s Baseball World Cup, putting a “red light” on their chances of qualifying for next year’s finals.
The team led by Yang Sang-moon lost 0-14 to eventual champions USA in five innings in the second game of the WBSC Women’s Baseball World Cup 2024 Group A qualifier at Port Arthur Stadium in Thunder Bay, Canada, on Tuesday (June 10).
It was the second straight defeat for Korea, which also lost to the United States after losing to Hong Kong (8-9) the day before, making it difficult for them to qualify for next year’s Women’s Baseball World Cup finals.
The team gave up a lot of runs from the start of the game. In the top of the first inning, Sayuri Ono gave up a triple to Ashton Rensdell and an RBI single to Alex Hugo. A throwing error and a hit by pitch led to five more runs in the first inning.먹튀검증
The team fared better in the second and third innings, scoring one run each. In the second inning, Sayuri was removed from the mound after a double by Hugo, and reliever Kim Na-yeon was hit by a pitch. After giving up a sacrifice fly, Kim gave up a home run in the third inning. Down 0-7, the team gave up seven runs in the fourth and fifth innings and eventually went cold.
