Thomas Tuchel has joked about Kylian Mbappe.
Tuchel recently appeared on the French TV program Canal Football Club and was asked about Mbappe. The two were former priests when Tuchel was coaching Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Already a superstar at the time, Mbappe’s status has only increased since Tuchel’s departure. Tuchel, who won the UEFA Champions League (UCL) with Chelsea, has been at Bayern Munich since last season.
When asked if he would like to sign Mbappe, Tuchel said: “Would I like to sign Mbappe at Munich, yes. Mbappe will play for us. That’s for sure. Mbappe is Mbappe. He’s a special player, a very smart player,” he laughed.레모나토토 도메인
He didn’t mean to imply that they were seriously looking to sign him. “We have a good relationship,” Tuchel continued. “If Mbappe wanted to come to Munich, I would ride my bike to pick him up. But realistically, I don’t think it will happen.”
While Tuchel’s comments were meant to be a joke, German publication Bild noted that Mbappe could actually be available in the summer transfer window. “Mbappe is indeed available in the summer. Mbappe’s contract expires in 2024. This means that Mbappe can negotiate with other clubs from January and could leave PSG in the summer without leaving a transfer fee,” explaining that the door is open for Munich to sign Mbappe.
Of course, it’s no secret that Mbappe’s first choice is Real Madrid. Mbappe has been linked with Real for some time now, and as far back as last summer, there were rumors that Real were in the market for the player, especially in the summer when Mbappe rejected PSG’s offer to extend his contract. At the time, PSG took some tough measures, including removing Mbappe from their Asian tour roster and forcing him to train with the second team.
Now, things have thawed. Back in the first team, Mbappe has already scored 13 goals in 11 games in the Ligue 1 with new teammates including Lee Kang-In.
